Mentor and Mentee Training
We can help you design a mentoring program and train your mentors and mentees. We believe the “coach approach“ to mentoring will train mentors to be more effective in working with the people they are mentoring because it is grounded in eliciting the best thinking from others. Customized training in topics such as understanding how different people understand and react to others and effective communication skills will prepare lawyers for an effective mentoring relationship.
Who Would Benefit: Any lawyer participating in a mentoring program as a mentor or mentee or managing other lawyers and staff.
Expected Outcomes:
Mentors and managers will:
•Learn to listen effectively – with curiosity not judgment.
•Ask questions that illicit the mentees’ best thinking.
•Learn how to use encouraging rather than judgmental language.
Mentees will:
•Learn to get the most from mentor meetings by identifying goals at the beginning of each session.
•Learn to ask questions effectively so that they will elicit useful feedback and insights.
